Dr. Mai Thanh Truyet : One thousand Year Anniversary of Thang Long under Garbage dumps.
The interview of Dr. Mai Thanh Truyet, President of the Vietnamese American Science and Technology Society (VAST) was conducted on August 12, 2010 at Westminster city in Southern California. The subject matter focused on the One Thousand Year Anniversary of Thang Long and Hanoi's current problems of environmental pollution.
Communist Vietnam government has spent an approximate amount of 4.5 billion US dollars for the celebration of One Thousand Year Anniversary of Thang Long while the country's economy is experiencing a down turn, Vietnamese people are reeling under extreme hardship and the state coffers burdened with 28 billion US dollars of international debt. Under these conditions, Vietnam will be obligated to pay an average of two billion US dollars of interest Payments as of 2006.
The anniversary celebration is being touted by the Viet Cong media as the Pride of the Vietnamese People.
The opening ceremony will be scheduled on October 1, 2010 coinciding with the National Day of the People's Republic of China.
A huge meeting expected to gather 10,000 participants will perform all kinds of ceremonies under a statue of a mandarin dressed in Chinese costume and proclaimed by the VC as King Ly Thai To.
However, spectacular celebration will not hide the obvious fact that Hanoi is covered by disastrous pollution.
The One Thousand Year Anniversary of Thang Long will certainly increase the amount of polluted air, unsafe drinking water, poisonous food products, garbage and all kinds of diseases.

Cộng Sản Việt Nam đã bỏ ra 4 tỷ 5 Mỹ Kim để tổ chức Đại Lễ Kỷ Niệm 1000 năm Thăng Long trong tình trạng kinh tế suy thoái, đời sống của toàn dân VN đầy khốn khó cơ cực và Việt Nam đã nợ thế giới 28 tỷ Mỹ Kim. Như vậy, tính từ năm 2006 đến nay mỗi năm trung bình Việt Nam phải trả tiền lời cho các món nợ đã đáo hạn khoảng 2 tỷ Mỹ Kim một năm.
Cái Đại Lễ này được mọi cơ quan truyền thông của VC quảng bá, tuyên truyền là niềm tự hào của nhân dân Việt nam.
Ngày khai mạc sẽ diễn ra vào ngày mồng 01 tháng 10 năm 2010 cũng là ngày Quốc Khánh của Trung Cộng.
Một cuộc "mít tinh" quy tụ hàng chục ngàn người để làm đủ thứ nghi lễ trước một tượng đài với tượng người mặc phẩm phục của vua Tầu mà VC gọi là tượng vua Lý Thái Tổ.
Tuy nhiên dù tổ chức vĩ đại thế nào thì VC cũng không thể tự hào về nạn ô nhiễm khủng khiếp bao trùm lên thành phố Hà Nội.
